Applicants must live within a 40-minute radius of the Tioga Field Office located at 1745 Valley Road Mansfield, PA 16993 or be willing to relocate.Primary Responsibilities:A Gas Utility Operator will work as part of a construction crew and will be responsible for installing and maintaining pipeline and compressor station facilities as well as the operation of excavation equipment, primarily a Loader/Hoe or a Mini-Excavator. In addition, the Gas Utility Operator will assist in other excavation, installation and maintenance operations that include:Manual excavationMechanical fitting workLubrication and minor vehicle upkeepMaintain manual and electronic operating records and documenting built sketches of work performedJobsite reporting to adjacent Field locations may be requiredMinimum Qualifications:Prior experience operating a mini-excavator/loader/backhoe or similar construction equipment and digging around utilities is requiredHigh school diploma or equivalentValid driver's license with a clean driving recordThe physical capability to work outdoors in all types of weather and the ability to work in and around hazards and difficult to reach areas is requiredMechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot technical issuesExcellent customer service/communication skillsBasic literacy is required. Ability to read, legibly prepare written documentation and have the ability to accurately interpret and analyze written informationBasic computer skillsPreferred Qualifications:Prior experience in the gas industry with operator qualificationsAdditional Details:The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, have a proven track record of good attendance, and committed to workplace safety. Candidates must be able to work Monday – Friday from 7:00 am – 3:30 pm and be available for after-hour call outs.
