The Occupational Therapist assumes primary responsibility for providing services for students needing evaluation and /or remediation in the different areas of occupational therapy. Duties & Responsibilities: Utilize standardized tests aswell as clinical observations to assess consumers strengths and deficisin the area of Occupational Therapy and prepare written evaluation reportsas part of the intake process. Develop IEP goals andobjectives for students evaluated in the intake process. Implement treatment plans aspart of therapeutic intervention in the area of OT. Provide consultation toclassroom staff in the areas of perceptual motor, sensory processing, finemotor, gross motor, balance, motor sequencing, and performance problems. Review and report on studentprogress. Participate actively as amember of the school’s interdisciplinary therapeutic team meetings. Attend regularly scheduledstaff meetings. Refer children for additionalnecessary consultations and medical evaluations when necessary. Submit all reports in a timelymanner. Submit updates and IEP goalsin OT for annual reviews, requested reviews and graduating children. Maintain daily records ofstudent progress. Provide guidance and workshopsto parents in order to enhance the development of skills at home. Education & Experience NYSLicense in Occupational Therapy. MS/MAin Occupational Therapy. AmericanOT Association Certification One(1) year of experience in Pediatric Evaluation Treatment. Valid,non-restricted driver’s license is required. Physical Requirements: Whileperforming the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talkand hear.The employee is frequentlyrequired to stand; walk, handle or feel; and reach.
