Accounting Manager

job summary:
We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and process-driven Accounting Manager to lead and scale our core accounting function. Operating in a high-velocity, fast-paced environment, this role will take full ownership of daily financial operations, inventory accounting, month-end closes, and technical compliance. The ideal candidate thrives in startup environments, possesses deep ERP experience (ideally NetSuite), and excels at building scalable financial frameworks while maintaining cross-functional alignment.

• Financial Operations & General Ledger: Direct daily accounting operations (AP, AR, GL) and ensure rigorous compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Month-End & Year-End Close: Lead and streamline the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including complex balance sheet reconciliations, flux analysis, and close schedule execution.
• Inventory & Cost Accounting: Oversee end-to-end inventory financial accounting, subledger-to-GL reconciliations, cost capitalization, and active resolution of inventory variance alongside operations and warehouse teams.
• ERP Mastery & Optimization: Serve as the primary administrative owner for NetSuite, optimizing transaction workflows, data integrity, and system scalability.
• Treasury & Cash Flow: Oversee cash management activities, bank/credit card reconciliations, and cash flow forecasting support.
• Audit & Tax Leadership: Lead external audit readiness, serving as the primary liaison for auditors and external tax partners (including sales tax filings, 1099 compliance, and regulatory reports).
• Internal Controls & Process Improvement: Design, implement, and enforce internal controls and SOPs to support rapid company growth.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with leadership, operations, logistics, and sales to deliver actionable financial insights.

• Experience: 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 1-2 years in a Supervisory, Lead, or Accounting Manager role.
• Startup Track Record: Mandatory prior experience operating in a fast-paced, high-growth startup or high-velocity environment.
• ERP Expertise: Highly Preferred: Direct, hands-on experience using and configuring NetSuite ERP.
• Technical Accounting: Strong background in full-cycle GAAP accounting, month-end close leadership, and complex inventory/cost accounting.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or Master's degree preferred).
• Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities (pivot tables, complex formulas, financial modeling).
• Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills; ability to navigate ambiguity independently.
