Highway Project Engineer

Job DescriptionDewberry is seeking a Highway Project Engineer for its Bloomfield, NJ or Mount Laurel, NJ offices. The team player we seek must have a BS degree in Civil Engineering and 5+ years of experience with NJDOT and/or NJTA projects and have a NJ PE license. The candidate will be responsible for managing interdisciplinary projects, preparation of contract documents, managing sub consultants, monitoring budgets, schedules, administering quality control program, and performing reviews of work. The candidate must have experience managing and writing technical proposals, and possess in-depth experience in the design of highways and roadways, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Certain positions are also eligible to receive overtime pay, whereas all non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime (subject to approval).In addition, a host of discounted purchase programs are available to all employees.ResponsibilitiesPerform all facets of highway engineering including design of horizontal and vertical geometry, utility relocations, development of maintenance and protection of traffic schemes, preparation of right of way and coordination of drainage design, traffic signals and electrical/lighting systems for a variety of project types and clients.Prepare contract documents including: Plans, Specifications, and Cost EstimatesMonitor budgets and schedulesAssist in preparation of proposals to provide professional servicesRequired Skills & Required ExperienceBachelor of Science in Civil Engineering requiredNJ Professional Engineer license required5+ years’ experience in highway designProficient with NJDOT, NJTA, AASHTO, and MUTCD design standards and proceduresExperience in highway design to include Highway/roadway design Design of horizontal and vertical alignmentsConstruction staging and design of maintenance and protection of traffic schemesPreparation of plans, specifications, and engineers estimatesMicroStation and OpenRoads Designer requiredExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProficient with MS Office softwareValid drivers license and clean driving record requiredDon’t meet every single requirement?
