Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our dermatology practice in DUMBO, Brooklyn. This is a part-time, primarily clinical role focused on supporting our dermatologists during patient visits, assisting with procedures, and ensuring a high standard of patient care.

The ideal candidate has prior dermatology experience, is comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment, and takes initiative to keep daily clinic operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain medical histories, document vital signs, and prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
• Assist dermatologists with medical and cosmetic dermatology procedures, including biopsies, excisions, injections, and other in-office treatments.
• Prepare examination rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain clinical supplies and equipment.
• Document relevant clinical information in the electronic medical record (EMR) and assist physicians with clinical documentation as needed.
• Provide patients with pre- and post-procedure instructions under physician direction.
• Collect and prepare specimens for laboratory processing.
• Maintain infection control, patient safety, and HIPAA compliance standards.
• Support efficient patient flow and collaborate closely with physicians and other clinical staff.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of prior dermatology Medical Assistant experience required. We also welcome candidates pursuing a career in medicine, including those preparing to apply to medical school and looking to gain hands-on clinical experience.
• Experience assisting with dermatologic procedures, including biopsies and excisions, strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical setting.
• Medical Assistant certification or equivalent relevant clinical experience required.

Schedule & Compensation

• Part-time position with required availability on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays within operating hours of 8:00 am - 8:00 pm.
• Hours may vary based on clinic schedules and patient volume.
• Compensation: $21.00–$28.00 per hour, depending on experience.
