Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care under physician orders, including assessment, monitoring, and therapy for patients with cardiopulmonary conditions.
• Manage mechanical ventilation and weaning per unit protocol; adjust settings, monitor alarms, and titrate oxygen as prescribed.
• Administer airway clearance techniques, inhaled medications, aerosol therapy, and bronchial hygiene therapies as ordered.
• Document all care in the electronic medical record (Cerner experience preferred) and communicate findings to the care team.
• Collaborate with the charge nurse/manager and multidisciplinary team; participate in rounds and shift handoffs; ensure equipment readiness and safety.
• Respond to emergencies as part of the patient care team and assist with patient transport and unit coordination as needed.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain equipment functionality; be prepared to float to affiliated units if required.

Requirements

• Active New Hampshire Respiratory Therapist license and verification of RRT credential.
• Certification: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Experience: 1 year minimum in the specialty within an acute care setting, or documented travel experience.
• EMR experience preferred (Cerner experience is a plus).
• Ability to work the specified overnight shift and every-other weekend; willingness to float to related unit areas as needed.
• RTO submission required at time of submission; local candidates within 50 miles eligible for local rate.
