Woodbridge School District is accepting applications for a Speech Language Pathologist. This is a full-time, 10-month, benefit-eligible related services position.

Job Summary

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides diagnostic, therapeutic, and consultative services to students with communication disorders that adversely affect their educational performance. Working collaboratively within the school district, the SLP supports students' ability to access the curriculum by developing and implementing individualized speech and language therapy programs. The SLP serves as a key member of the multidisciplinary educational team, ensuring compliance with state and federal special education regulations.

Qualification Requirements

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Current license or eligibility for licensure by the state board of speech-language pathology. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) in progress. State Department of Education certification or endorsement for Speech-Language Pathology Knowledge of special education regulations and compliance procedures Experience in a school setting or with school-aged populations preferred Familiarity with Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) preferred Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills required. Ability to interpret assessment data and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Proficiency in using technology for documentation, virtual therapy, and instructional support. Bilingual or multilingual skills preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive speech, language, voice, fluency, and communication evaluations. Interpret assessment data and write diagnostic reports. Participate in the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including eligibility determinations. Design and implement therapy plans based on IEP goals. Maintain adequate records of treatment and data of the IEP objectives for the students being served. Present well-constructed, thorough, reports related to completed assessments and observations of students. Use evidence-based practices to address articulation, language, voice, fluency, and social communication needs. Plan for and deliver speech and language therapy through group and/or individual sessions for students that may include assistive technology, augmentative communication, social language development, articulation, voice, oral motor, receptive and expressive language. Perform appropriate diagnostic and evaluative testing. Opportunities for specialized caseloads including students with educational classification of Autism or other complex communication needs, and students with feeding needs Work with and assist other team members with providing necessary carry-over of strategies and skills into all other areas of the students' learning opportunities. Provides speech services, as needed, for students attending ESY or 12 month programming. Work collaboratively with administration, teachers, parents, special education staff, and other professionals. Provide consultation to classroom teachers to support speech and language goals within the general education setting. Educate families and staff about communication development and strategies to support student needs. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress, therapy sessions, and evaluations. Ensure all services comply with state and federal laws (IDEA) and district policies. Prepare and participate in IEP meetings and re-evaluations. Stay current with best practices, certifications, and continuing education requirements. Supervise speech-language pathology assistants (SLPAs) or graduate interns, as needed. Assist in developing district-wide speech-language programs and initiatives. Contribute to the creation of communication-friendly classrooms and school environments. Other duties as assigned.
