Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Rotating

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Rotating Days/Nights (5:30 AM–6:00 PM / 5:30 PM–6:00 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapies including oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and ventilator management, ensuring proper patient response and safety
• Conduct patient assessments, correlate care with patient needs, and monitor responses to respiratory treatments including pharmacological interventions
• Perform and document Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) punctures accurately, reporting results promptly
• Follow respiratory protocols, ensuring adherence to safety guidelines and regulatory standards during all procedures
• Manage ventilator settings and airway maintenance to ensure optimal patient comfort and safety during respiratory support
• Assist physicians with invasive and non-invasive procedures, including intubations, arterial line insertion, pulmonary function studies, and cardiac and pulmonary stress tests

Required Qualifications

• 2 or more years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist required
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the National Board of Respiratory Care required
• Active New Mexico (NM) Respiratory Therapy license required
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• NRP certification required — candidates must be willing to obtain NRP before or immediately after start if not already held; please note NRP status in your application

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Pediatric and neonatal respiratory care experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with MedHost EMR system
• Experience with pulmonary function studies and cardiac/pulmonary stress testing
