This position plays a vital role in fostering a safe, respectful, and positive school environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. The ideal candidate is a relationship-builder who believes in supporting students through accountability, restorative practices, and meaningful connections with families and staff. Position Responsibilities Promote a positive school culture that encourages respect, responsibility, and student success. Build strong relationships with students, families, and staff to support a welcoming and inclusive learning environment. Oversee student attendance, behavior, and discipline while utilizing restorative practices whenever appropriate. Collaborate with administrators, counselors, teachers, and support staff to develop interventions that improve student outcomes. Monitor student attendance and implement strategies to reduce chronic absenteeism. Assist with student supervision before, during, and after the school day, as well as at school activities. Investigate student concerns and help resolve conflicts in a fair, consistent, and respectful manner. Support implementation of school safety procedures and crisis response plans. Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and concerns. Encourage student leadership, engagement, and participation in school activities. Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Valid Iowa teaching license required. Iowa Administrator License (or ability to obtain) preferred. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to build trusting relationships while maintaining high expectations for student behavior and achievement.
