Job Summary:
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in Madison, Wisconsin. The facility is a designated Level I Trauma Center and is ranked as Wisconsins #1 hospital, known for delivering advanced, specialized care. Candidates are required to bring their RN license on the first day. This role involves providing urgent and emergent care for a diverse patient population, including neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The schedule includes evening and night shifts, with 12-hour and 8-hour shifts as needed, typically from 3:00 PM to 3:30 AM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

• Location: Madison, WI
• Shift Time: Eve/Night, 12-hour and 8-hour shifts as needed, from 3:00 PM to 3:30 AM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Minimum Hours Per Week: 36.0 hours
• Required Qualifications: WI RN license or Compact RN license, two (2) years of Emergency Department experience with adult and pediatric populations within the last 3 years, Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience, BLS, PALS, ACLS (AHA only), TNCC certifications, and passing a Telemetry exam prior to start.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS AHA only), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
• Additional Requirements: Flu vaccination (medical or religious exemptions only), successful passing of Telemetry exam (two attempts with potential submission of a cardiac review course certificate if failed twice).
• Skills and Responsibilities: Management of adult and pediatric emergency conditions including trauma, cardiac emergencies, neurological incidents, infections, and mental health crises. Proficiency in arterial line management, IV therapy, intubation, medication administration, patient stabilization, and use of emergency procedures and equipment is required.
