Job Title: Summer School Classroom Teacher

J ob Purpose/Overvie w:
We are seeking a teacher to join our summer school team for two short-term elementary courses:

• 4K Course: Monday, June 15 - Thursday, June 19
• 5K Course: Monday, June 22 - Thursday, June 25

Each class meets from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. daily. Current enrollment is approximately 10-11 students per class.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons
Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments
Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment
Communicate regularly with parents about student performance
Collaborate with colleagues to develop instructional strategies
Adapt instruction to meet diverse student needs and learning styles
Duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in education or relevant field
Valid teaching license
Appropriate licensure for the assignment
Knowledge of instructional practices and state curriculum standards
Ability to create engaging lesson plans
Strong classroom management skills
Experience with differentiated instruction
Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in relevant subject area
Experience using technology in the classroom to enhance learning
Experience working with diverse student populations and differentiated instruction
Involvement in extracurricular activities or school committees

Physical Demands:

Standing and walking for extended periods
Occasional lifting of classroom materials and equipment up to 25 pounds
Ability to bend, stoop, and kneel while assisting students
Frequent use of hands for writing, typing, and classroom activities
Clear verbal communication for instruction and student interaction

Work Environment:

Classroom setting with frequent student interaction
Exposure to typical school-related noise
Occasional outdoor activities or field trips
Need to manage multiple tasks and student needs
Structured environment with potential for interruptions throughout the day
