What You'll Do
- Provide post-anesthesia care for patients recovering from surgical procedures in a high-volume environment
- Support patients of all ages, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations
- Float to pediatric PACU as needed, with the ability to adapt to a variety of case types
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure safe recovery and discharge protocols
- Operate essential equipment such as Hoyer lifts, bladder scanners, and Accuvein
- Maintain patient safety standards and comply with hospital policies and procedures
What You Need
Required:
- Valid Louisiana RN license with CPR certification (ACLS, BCLS, PALS)
- 1+ year PACU or Pre/Post Op nursing experience
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Ability to care for patients of all ages and support high-volume surgical units
Preferred:
- Experience in pediatric PACU or regional anesthesia
About the Assignment This role is based in a top-tier surgical recovery unit supporting all major surgical services except critical care. You will assist in caring for patients pre-op, intra-op, and post-op in a fully equipped environment across two floors with diverse case loads, including pediatric patients and outpatient procedures. The unit features 34 ORs with specialties such as Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, and Pulmonary Lab, providing a fast-paced, rewarding setting. Compliance
