Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Critical Care (ICU/ED) and PACU License: Temporary Minnesota nursing license accepted if applied for permanent license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS required Must-Have: Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms; experience with pediatric and geriatric patient populations; Trauma Level I experience; previous travel experience; Epic experience Description: The Registered Nurse provides holistic care to patients and families. The focus is on independent, collaborative, and delegated nursing functions as outlined in standards and competencies specific to the assigned service area. The scope of practice may include the care of patients throughout the life cycle, including neonates, infants, children, young adults, adults, and older adults. The RN executes the Standards of Nursing Practice, including assessment, nursing diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN develops and revises the patient's plan of care and coordinates care among disciplines. The RN delegates activities to other care providers as appropriate. The RN participates in shared accountability and decision-making for nursing practices. Through active participation in practice and by implementing personal leadership qualities and skills, the RN defines, implements, and improves practice standards and the environment of care. The RN promotes exceptional patient care. Variation of duties may occur based on the assigned patient care unit, which may include differences in specific clinical skills required of the RN. Unit-based skill lists outline expectations beyond the general RN requirements.
