Job Description

Job Description

Craft your best work with a veteran-owned team in Winston-Salem, NC

Picture your morning: you review the day’s scope, load up your tools, and head to a beautifully maintained home where a discerning client expects a flawless result. There’s no crew following you—just your skill, your standards, and the satisfaction of finishing what you start. Our client, a veteran-owned local business, partners with high-end homeowners across Winston-Salem on projects ranging from rentals and flips to custom residences. They’re seeking a long-term Lead Carpenter who thrives as a one-person powerhouse.

• Walk a space, plan cuts, and complete the entire drywall cycle : cutting, installing, patching, mudding, sanding, and painting to a smooth, finished surface.
• Deliver professional-grade interior painting with clean lines and durable finishes.
• Build or restore decks with precise joinery and a focus on longevity and safety.
• Install flooring —LVP, hardwood, laminate, or tile—tight seams, correct transitions, and accurate underlayment.
• Hang doors and fit hardware: hinges, handles, locks, strikes, and alignment to perfection.
• Handle service tickets solo, from diagnosis through punch list, without supervision.

• Cabinet layout, design support, and installation
• Built-ins, shelving , and fitted furniture
• Kitchen and bath remodel components
• General carpentry repairs as needed

• 5+ years as a Lead/Master Carpenter with an unwavering eye for detail
• Mastery of the complete drywall process from start to finish
• Hands-on strength in painting, deck construction, and flooring installs
• Proficiency with power and hand tools —saws, routers, precision measuring tools, and more
• Proven ability to work independently and finish jobs without a helper
• Quality-driven, efficient, and fluent in English with solid communication skills
• Physically capable with the endurance this craft demands
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

• Formal training (apprenticeship, trade school, or similar)
• Background in higher-end residential environments
• A record of on-time, on-budget delivery

• If most of your background is limited to apartments, rentals, or low-income housing , this caliber of finish may not match your experience.
• If you cannot complete drywall end-to-end , this role won’t fit.
• If you usually require a helper or crew for standard tasks, this isn’t the environment for you.
• If you’re transitioning from running your own business and want short-term work, note that this is a long-term employee role.
• If your pace is consistently slow (even with good results), our timelines won’t align.

Bring your craftsmanship to a team that values precision, independence, and accountability. If you’re ready to own the work—from first cut to final touch—let’s talk.
