Duties

Help

• You will answer requests and provide advice to employees, supervisors, staff in other financial management series and personnel specialists on pay related rules, regulations, and procedures.
• You will make collections not related to pay and leave, maintaining retirement records, or processing health benefit forms.
• You will post, examine, balance, compute, and extract data from records to prepare reports.
• You will establish, maintain, correct and close pay accounts for active, reserve, or retired armed forces personnel and their annuitants.
• You will in process, out process, and separate service members, respond to pay inquires, review pay debts, and process adjustments.
• You will perform budget analysis and administration such as maintaining ledgers, budget formulation, compiling, consolidating, checking and arranging funding data.

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

• Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
• Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
• This is a Financial Management Level I Certified position IAW the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. this certification level must be achieved within prescribed timelines.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

GS-09: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector Utilizing accounting, budgeting or other financial management methods, techniques, procedures to carry out assignments significantly difficult and complex.

GS-08: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector Utilizing accounting, budgeting, or other financial management methods, techniques, and procedures to carry out difficult and complex assignments.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation, etc.) may be authorized to eligible selectees.

A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.

This position is eligible for ad-hoc/situational telework at the discretion of management.

PCS is not authorized.

A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 8.64% will be added to the stated salary. COLA is subject to change at any time.

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
