Job Description

As a Painter, you will be responsible for priming, painting, and touching up vehicles using power spray equipment and brushes. You will ensure that all masking is adjusted to specifications, and perform necessary washing and conditioning of parts. Occasionally, light bodywork may be required.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, repair, adjust, and reassemble painting equipment for proper operation.
• Flush tanks, hoses, and guns prior to color changeovers.
• Mix all types of paints to ensure proper color, formula, conditions, viscosity, and consistency.
• Perform titrations and mix or adjust chemicals in paint, zinc, or other processes as needed.
• Apply decals, stencils, and rust-proofing as required.
• Maintain the work area and equipment, including preventative maintenance tasks.
• Inspect products before, during, and after the paint process to ensure specifications are met.
• Transport, move, or guide parts, subassemblies, or assemblies during the paint process using material handling equipment such as a forklift or overhead crane.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• 6+ months of painting experience in automotive or heavy vehicle/equipment in a manufacturing, industrial, or automotive body shop.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• Basic mechanical aptitude.

• 1+ year of painting experience in automotive or heavy vehicle/equipment in a manufacturing, industrial, or automotive body shop.
• Powder Coating experience is highly preferred.

Work Environment

The work environment includes inside paint booths with strong paint odors and a hot atmosphere. Painters must wear a full paint suit and respirator. Please note that candidates should not have facial hair to ensure a proper fit for the respirator. The dress code includes jeans, steel toes, and a clean work shirt. The current workforce in the weld department consists of 300 employees, with a goal to reach 400 for full staffing. The culture encourages working both independently and collaboratively.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greencastle, PA.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.65/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Greencastle,PA.
