Building Engineer II

The Building Engineer II is responsible for the timely completion of necessary maintenance activities and supervising the facility maintenance team and trade partners. Key responsibilities include leading and performing mid-level predictive and preventative maintenance on mechanical and building systems, maintaining records and preparing reports, and mentoring, leading, and managing Building Engineer I to ensure career growth and progression.

Qualifications include three (3) years' experience with HVAC system maintenance, knowledge of safety procedures and equipment, the ability to read, understand and communicate both verbally and written, basic computer skills, and a mid-level understanding of air conditioning and control systems. Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and life safety monitoring and control systems is also required, along with the ability to read blueprints/CAD drawings.

Physical requirements include heavy work, exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The individual in this position will periodically walk, kneel, sit, crouch, reach, stoop, read/see, speak, push, pull, lift, stand, and finger/type. The frequency of each action varies by workflow and field activity.

Education requirements include a high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Three (3) years' experience in commercial or industrial environment with increasing responsibility for leading daily building operations and/or a combination of education and experience is also required.
