It is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians, providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf, blind, developmentally disabled, and mentally ill, and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence.Description of WorkThe Counselor-in-Charge (CIC) position is part of the Albemarle VR/IL Unit and is located in the Monroe satellite office in Union County. This position is responsible for organizing and directing the daily supervision of counselors and assigned staff, casework, and providing leadership within the unit. The CIC will assist the Unit Manager with work involving planning, implementing, and evaluating the technical and administrative components of a rehabilitation program consisting of multiple caseloads, third-party programs, and a limited number of specialized rehabilitation programs. The CIC helps shape unit performance through data-informed decision-making, promotes professional development, and fosters a collaborative team environment to support individuals with disabilities in achieving their employment goals.
