Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking Texas-licensed Emergency Medicine physicians for a locum tenens opportunity in Killeen, Texas. This role offers the chance to work in a busy community hospital emergency department with a high patient volume, Epic EMR, and diverse shift coverage.

• Shift options: 6a-3p, 11a-9p, 3p-12a, 6p-2a, 9p-6a
  
  
• APP coverage: 6a-6p, 10a-8p, 6p-6a
  
  
• EMR: Epic
  
  
• Multiple subspecialty backup support including CT, Gastro, Gen Surgery, Hema/Onc, MRI, Neonatology, Nephrology, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology, Pathology, and Wound Care
  
  

Schedule Details

• Coverage: July, ongoing as needed
  
  
• Shifts available across days, evenings, and nights
  
  
• Flexible scheduling options to accommodate provider availability
  
  

Clinical Scope

• Evaluation, stabilization, treatment, and disposition of emergency department patients
  
  
• Management of a broad range of medical and traumatic presentations
  
  
• Collaboration with hospital-based support teams and subspecialty consults
  
  
• Orders and documentation within Epic EMR
  
  
• No admitting orders required; transfers and discharges as clinically appropriate
  
  

Practice Environment

• Community hospital emergency department with 38 ED beds and 10 ICU beds
  
  
• Responds to acuity levels primarily ESI 3
  
  
• Referring trauma, burn, pediatric, and stroke centers nearby
  
  
• Heli service available for transfers
  
  

Requirements

• MD/DO degree
  
  
• Active, unrestricted Texas medical license
  
  
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine (ABEM/ABFM)
  
  
• ACLS and ATLS certifications
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in high-volume emergency departments
  
  
• Ability to work flexible shifts across all hours
  
  
• Prior experience with Epic EMR
