Mid-Level Systems EngineerJoin a collaborative engineering team in the Tysons Corner, VA area supporting critical infrastructure and applications across enterprise environments. We are seeking a mid-level Systems Engineer to help design, implement, and maintain secure, high-performing systems while supporting modern DevOps and automation practices.This role is responsible for maintaining application infrastructure across multiple networks, ensuring systems meet security compliance requirements, and supporting operational reliability. The position also includes participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation.Key ResponsibilitiesSystem Design & Implementation: Design, install, configure, and test operating systems, application software, and system management toolsMonitoring & Maintenance: Proactively monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and reliabilitySecurity & Compliance: Implement and maintain security controls, ensuring systems meet compliance requirements and best practicesBackup & Recovery: Develop and maintain backup strategies and disaster recovery plansAutomation & Scripting: Create and maintain scripts to automate processes and improve system efficiencyTroubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex issues across hardware, software, and network environmentsCollaboration: Partner with developers, engineers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver effective solutionsDocumentation: Maintain clear and detailed documentation for system architecture, configurations, and operational proceduresTechnology Evaluation: Research and recommend new tools, technologies, and system enhancementsRequired Qualifications2+ years of experience in systems engineering, DevOps, or related technical rolesExperience configuring and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated testing toolsStrong knowledge of Linux/Unix environmentsExperience with version control systems (e.g., Git)Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or similarFamiliarity with Agile development methodologiesBachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)Preferred QualificationsExperience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AnsibleFamiliarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)Experience with testing frameworks and automation toolsPosition Clearance Requirement:TS/SCI with FSPSalary and Benefits Information:The salary range for this position is $95,322.00 To $135,909.00. The proposed range is intended as a general guideline. Final compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, location, and contractual considerations and may fall outside of the stated range.
