Tender Engineering Manager (m/w/d)

The Tender Engineering Manager (m/w/d) is responsible for the overall technical coordination and management in the tender phase of projects. This role operates within international teams across the entire technology spectrum of substations—both onshore and offshore, with AIS and GIS systems, flexible AC transmission systems (FACTS) as well as renewable energy solutions—for distribution network operators (DSOs), transmission system operators (TSOs), and industrial customers. As a technical project leader in the tender phase, the Tender Engineering Manager (m/w/d) ensures that all technical requirements of the tender are delivered on time, within budget, and according to customer specifications. At the same time, they promote the development of optimized technical solutions and manage technical opportunities and risks throughout the tender process.

Your tasks:

• Overall responsibility for the technical leadership and coordination of all activities in the tender phase
• Definition and control of the technical project scope, schedule, and resource requirements for the engineering team in the tender
• Coordination of interdisciplinary and external stakeholders to ensure technical consistency and interface harmonization
• Ensuring compliance with all technical customer requirements, including conducting clause-by-clause analyses and leading technical coordination
• Promoting knowledge transfer and continuous improvement through lessons-learned activities
• Scheduling all engineering activities in the tender and monitoring technical coordination across various work packages
• Compilation of a workload plan for the engineering disciplines
• Development of an engineering execution strategy
• Creation of risk assessments for technical content
• Support in the creation of the execution schedule

Your profile:

• Completed studies in electrical engineering or a comparable field
• Experience in the technical processing of high-voltage projects (EPC), particularly AC substations or FACTS
• Proven experience in technical project management in multidisciplinary and international teams with diverse interfaces
• Excellent communication and team skills
• Leadership skills with clear result responsibility and the ambition to deliver high-quality results on time and within budget
• Travel readiness of approx. 10–20%
• Very good German and English language skills
• In-depth industry knowledge in the field of transmission or distribution networks
• Knowledge in one or more of the following engineering areas is advantageous: construction, plant configuration, protection and control technology, grid and system studies, electrical design
• Experience with tools such as AutoCAD, BIM, or Engineering Base is desirable
• Experience with MS Project is advantageous
• Knowledge in the field of renewable energies is a plus
