Senior GIS Programmer

Job Summary:

The Senior GIS Programmer/Systems Analyst is responsible for developing and supporting GIS applications within an enterprise environment. This role focuses on upgrading and enhancing GIS tools, including migrating custom ArcMap AddIns to ArcGIS Pro AddIns, and supporting the Agricultural Preservation Model. The position requires collaboration with the Office of Information Technology's GIS Program and the Office of Planning, working primarily onsite with a hybrid remote schedule. Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain GIS applications in an enterprise GIS environment.
• Perform code reviews, documentation, planning, and development tasks.
• Assist in upgrading custom ArcMap AddIns to ArcGIS Pro AddIns using C# and Python.
• Support database development and management related to GIS applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support GIS program initiatives.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Minimum five (5) years experience developing and modifying applications using J2EE, .NET, JavaScript, HTML, C#, and Python.
• At least three (3) years working with ESRI ArcGIS technologies including ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS APIs, ArcGIS JavaScript API, Esri SDKs, and ArcSDE.
• Experience with ArcGIS Model Builder and Python scripting.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, including triggers and stored procedures.
• Experience developing reports using SSRS and Power BI.
• Strong understanding of relational databases and concepts, preferably Oracle and SQL Server.
• Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience with agricultural or planning-related GIS models and tools.
• Familiarity with hybrid work environments and remote collaboration tools.

Special Considerations:

• Work primarily onsite with a hybrid schedule allowing up to two remote days per week (approximately 40% remote, 60% onsite).
• Fully remote or out-of-state employment is not authorized.

Scheduling:

• Hybrid work schedule established in coordination with the hiring manager after onboarding and equipment issuance.
• Work from home allowed up to two days per week following initial onboarding and training.
