CRNA: 24/7 Acute Care Anesthesia & Continuity Specialist

Overview Provides exceptional patient care in collaboration with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other physicians to deliver anesthesia for medical and surgical procedures. Cultivates a patient‑centric environment that focuses on the whole individual inclusive of physical, psychosocial, spiritual and functional needs of the patient, family, and significant others. Serves as the focal professional for continuity of care within scope of practice standards, addressing and resolving problems that may arise. This full‑time call CRNA position is part of a core team of dedicated CRNAs who provide timely anesthetic and emergency care for patients in a 24/7 model. Schedule Requirements Availability to work off‑shifts, weekends, and holidays as part of restricted in‑house call rotation. Willingness to respond to emergency calls and provide anesthesia services within the hospital setting. Required to give 90‑day notice when transitioning or resigning from the call team. Responsibilities Implement accurate, safe, patient‑centric anesthetic care. Understand physiologic implications and anesthetic considerations of surgical procedures, constantly monitor vital signs, capnography, and pulse oximetry during anesthesia per ASA guidelines. Ensure appropriate documentation within hospital and regulatory requirements, protecting information from unauthorized access. Demonstrate high standard of moral and ethical behavior, professionalism, compassion, and commitment to patient care. Continuously engage in projects that maintain and advance professional competency. Qualifications Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (completion of accredited Nurse Anesthesia Educational Program). Current State of Connecticut Nursing License, APRN licensure in Connecticut. AANA certification, state CT RN and APRN license, ACLS, DEA registration and CT Controlled Substance registration. Experience: Experience as a CRNA within the specialty/service line is preferred; not required. Must be appointed to Affiliated Medical Staff of a YNHHS Hospital and credentialed through the Medical Staff process. Special Skills Sharp concentration and focus; ability to remain calm under stressful conditions. Clear and effective communication with surgeons, surgical support team, patients and families. Immediate and responsive anesthetic patient management. Flexibility and adaptability.
