Founding Director, BSN Program (Part-Time Launch Phase, Path to Full-Time) Amlotus School — New York, NY (Midtown Manhattan) About Us Amlotus School is a private institution in New York City, which plans to launch its first degree program: an accelerated, upper-division Bachelor of Science in Nursing (52 credits, three semesters). Our application for New York State authorization and program registration is currently pending review with NYSED. We are building a small, focused founding team for a targeted Fall2027 first cohort. The Opportunity This is a founding leadership role. You will begin part-time during the approval phase and transition to full-time Program Director when the program is approved. The Program Director serves as the program's Chief Academic Officer and will be the named Program Director in the School's NYSED registration and Board of Nursing review. Once the program launches, the Program Director also teaches one course per semester. Your Primary Focus Your first priority is securing clinical affiliation agreements with NYC-area hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities. We are looking for someone who can open doors through an existing professional network, not someone starting from scratch. Clinical agreement goals: Letters of intent: by month2 Signed agreements for all core specialties: by month6, or sooner if requested by NYSED Structure and Compensation Phase1 (Before Approval): 16hours per week. $95–$110 per hour based on experience, plus performance bonuses: $3,000 per executed affiliation agreement. Phase2 (After Approval): Transition to the full-time Program Director role with a competitive salary and benefits, starting 3–5 months before the first cohort (contingent on NYSED approval). What You'll Do Months1–3: Approval priorities Secure clinical affiliation agreements for medical-surgical, maternal-child, mental health, and community rotations, starting with letters of intent Develop the clinical education plan and clinical rotation matrix, including use of NYSED's simulation provision (up to one-third of clinical hours) Write the clinical and faculty sections of the School's responses to NYSED, and support the external program evaluation Months4–6: Readiness Complete any remaining clinical affiliation agreements Specify and source skills and simulation laboratory equipment, including cost-effective refurbished options, within the School's budget, and advise on the lab's layout and build-out Build and vet a pool of part-time didactic, laboratory, and clinical faculty Design the NCLEX‑RN success plan: standardized testing, remediation, and outcome benchmarks Review and develop the clinical compliance policies and student clinical handbook (health clearance, immunizations, background checks, drug screening) After approval: Full-time Program Director (Chief Academic Officer) Serve as the program's academic leader and represent academics on the Advisory Board Oversee curriculum development and implementation, program review, and quality improvement Teach one course per semester in the BSN program Hire and supervise faculty Monitor student learning outcomes, conduct 8-week progression reviews, and develop improvement plans Provide student advising, oversee academic support services, and coordinate interventions Manage clinical operations and ensure accreditation compliance, including NLN CNEA accreditation Recruit Advisory Board members, including nursing leaders from clinical partners Establish articulation agreements with 2–3 NYC community colleges for the prerequisite sequence Required Qualifications Master's degree in nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution Current, unencumbered RN license in New York, or eligibility for NewYork licensure Minimum of 5 years of experience in nursing education Minimum of 2 years of supervisory and academic administrative experience (such as Director, Assistant Director, or Chair) Experience in curriculum development, assessment, and academic administration Experience with accreditation preparation and regulatory compliance processes Active professional relationships with clinical leadership (CNOs, nursing education directors, or clinical coordinators) at NYC-area healthcare facilities Preferred Qualifications Doctoral degree in nursing (DNP or PhD) Experience with NYSED new program registration or a new program or campus launch Experience setting up or running a simulation lab CNE or CHSE certification Benefits Flexible schedule Salary for the full-time Program Director role will be discussed and may be negotiable at the time of transition, based on experience and program needs.
