Truck Driver - Hiker/Vehicle Transporter/CDL - Part Time

Position Summary Penske Truck Leasing seeks highly motivated and qualified applicants to fill the unique position of Hiker (Vehicle Transporter/Truck Driver). This position is responsible for vehicle delivery and returning vehicles to Penske locations and Penske customers. This role primarily moves box trucks up to 26’ and, for CDL Class A holders, includes tractors and trailer movement. The position may also assist the service department to deliver parts and equipment. The role reports to the Nashville, TN location at 214 Hermitage Avenue, Nashville, TN 37210. Shift: TBD. This is a casual/on‑call part‑time truck driving job perfect for licensed CDL Class B or CDL Class A drivers seeking supplemental income and looking to work from 0 to 25 hours a week based on business needs. Major Responsibilities Follow appropriate safety procedures while driving trucks to Penske or customer locations. Check vehicles to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order; report issues to the location manager. Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required. Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles. Complete other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications 2 years of driving experience. 2 years of a clean DMV motor‑vehicle record. Valid ClassB CDL; applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence. CDL ClassA license preferred. Ability to read and follow written instructions. Ability to work independently, strong customer‑service skills, organizational skills, and a positive attitude. English language proficiency (required for federal compliance). Regular, predictable, full attendance. Compliance with DOT regulations: current driver qualification file, annual MVR check, DOT physical, safety performance history, DOT drug screening within 30 days of start, and FMCSA Clearinghouse review. Willingness to travel, work required schedule, work at required location, complete employment application, background investigation, and drug screening. The associate must legally operate a motor vehicle and safely and frequently enter/exit the vehicle and rear cargo area.
