4696 S US Hwy 61, Memphis, Tennessee, United States of America Job Description Purpose The Meat Cutter ensures the store’s meat department operates at the standards set by the company, driving sales and maximizing profitability. The Meat Cutter delivers the highest level of customer service and satisfaction by following the company’s meat merchandising plan and trimming /preparing standard cuts of meat as outlined in the Meat Cutter Resource Manual. The Meat Cutter demonstrates excellent teamwork, interpersonal skills, and commitment to the success of the team. Responsibilities Using knives and power equipment, cuts and/or packages authorized beef, pork and poultry items according to company policies and procedures Wraps, weighs and prices cuts of meat based on company and pricing guidelines Labels packages according to COOL, USDA and company standards Ensures displays and case signs are updated appropriately, and meat is merchandised and presented to set standards with a focus on maximizing sales Assists with product ordering Maintains proper date rotation for dated and undated products per company policy, both in the display case and in the storage coolers Prepares and places meat cuts and products in the display counter according to company procedures so they will appear attractive and appealing to the customers Receives, inspects, and stores meat upon delivery, to maintain cold chain and ensure meat quality Ensures excellent sanitation and quality standards are met daily which adhere to company policy Follows and executes all company policies and procedures which includes but is not limited to: COOL, Food Safety, Sanitation, Meat/Produce Scale operation, Mark Downs, Inventory Processes, Meat POG’s, Meat Cutter Resource Manual, Daily Manager Signoff and Meat Cutting List Responsibilities may include other perishable and non-perishable related duties necessary to maintain optimal store performance Protects company property, funds and merchandise May be assigned to work in more than one store and other areas of the store Performs other duties as assigned About You Must be 18 years of age or older High School diploma or equivalent required Experience safely using manual pallet jacks, hand tools and power equipment, including but not limited to knives, wrappers, scales, slicers, cubing machine, and power saw (where certified to cut meat) preferred Company work history will be strongly considered, including attendance, work performance, safety, policy compliance and performance management Proficiency in basic math skills required, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division Must be able to read, write and speak in English. Demonstrate effective oral and written communication, interpersonal skills.
