Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer to support manufacturing operations at a high-volume production facility in San Antonio, Texas.

The successful candidate will provide hands-on engineering support to daily manufacturing operations, identify and resolve production issues, improve manufacturing processes, reduce downtime and defects, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

This is a senior-level engineering position requiring demonstrated experience in manufacturing/process engineering, technical problem solving, cross-functional communication, customer interaction, and small-to-medium project management.

Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and independently managing engineering priorities while collaborating with Operations, Quality, Logistics, Maintenance, and other cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide daily engineering support to manufacturing operations and respond to production defects, downtime, and process-related issues.

• Identify root causes of manufacturing problems and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.

• Manage and prioritize key engineering projects and production improvement opportunities within assigned manufacturing areas.

• Participate in cross-functional teams to resolve downtime, quality issues, process challenges, and production constraints.

• Work closely with Operations and other functional teams to improve line balance, standardization, process flow, and productivity.

• Participate in daily production meetings, real-time management meetings, and engineering review meetings.

• Develop, update, and maintain manufacturing and process documentation.

• Create and maintain documents such as PFMEA, Standard Work Instructions (SWI), One Point Lessons (OPL), Kaizen documentation, and other process-related materials.

• Participate in internal and external corrective action activities.

• Read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.

• Support process design, assembly processes, tooling, equipment, and manufacturing improvements.

• Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders on engineering solutions, purchases, and project requirements.

• Validate implemented solutions and ensure appropriate project completion and approvals.

• Support small-to-medium engineering projects from concept through implementation.

• Analyze manufacturing data and identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.

• Work independently on routine and recurring engineering activities while contributing positively to a team environment.

• Follow all applicable safety, quality, environmental, and manufacturing procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline preferred.

• Demonstrated experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, industrial engineering, or a similar manufacturing environment.

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production operations, and continuous improvement methodologies.

• Experience troubleshooting manufacturing defects, downtime, and process issues.

• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

• Strong technical, verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.

• Experience working with cross-functional teams in a production environment.

• Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Demonstrated reliability, dependability, safety awareness, and professional attendance.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Excel, Minitab, Power BI, or similar data-analysis tools.

• Project management experience.

• Experience with PFMEA, SWI, OPL, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.

• Experience in automotive, commercial vehicle, heavy equipment, or other high-volume manufacturing environments.

• Experience working with production, logistics, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams.

• Experience managing vendors, engineering projects, or process improvement initiatives.
