Job Title: Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Integration Engineer
Location: Houston, TX
Job Summary
Looking for a BESS Integration Engineer with strong experience in power systems, energy storage, and utility-scale or industrial BESS integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Integrate BESS with generators, medium-voltage distribution systems, and microgrids.
- Work with battery technologies, PCS, protection & controls, EMS, and grid-forming/grid-following inverters.
- Support power system modeling, stability, reliability, and availability analysis.
- Review EPC and vendor design packages and support technical decisions.
- Ensure BESS designs align with applicable industry standards and safety requirements.
- Work with vendors and cross-functional teams on technical issues and project delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Power Systems, Energy Systems Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in power systems, energy storage, renewable integration, utility, or similar infrastructure projects.
- Direct experience with utility-scale or industrial BESS.
- Experience with medium-voltage systems, microgrids, or power generation integration.
- Experience with ETAP, PSCAD, or equivalent is preferred.
- Strong technical leadership, problem-solving, communication, and vendor management skills.
