Clinical Laboratory Quality Analyst

Labcorp is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst to join our team at Birmingham, AL. This is an onsite position. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Job Responsibilities Provide monthly and quarterly quality metric data analysis and assist in generating metric reports Assist in training staff on quality related topics Act as a site administrator for document control and IQE applications in MediaLab Support all quality improvement efforts and the quality management system for the regional laboratory Schedule and conduct quality audits of assigned departments/facilities processes and provide audit reports Help facilitate external audits and inspections by the CAP, CMS, ISO 15189 and other agencies as needed Assist the laboratory with remaining inspection ready Participate in regulatory and accrediting agency inspections when needed Review proficiency testing results Assist with investigations and corrective actions for nonconforming events and complaints including facilitating root cause analyses, effectiveness checks, FMEAs, and risk assessments Support change control processes Stay current with regulatory agency requirements Monitor the progress and usage of various electronic quality systems including competency, training, document control, nonconforming event, and metric tracking programs Participate in monthly Quality meetings and compose minutes Serve as a resource on regulatory issues and compliance Assist with licensure and accreditation applications/renewals Perform administrative and clerical duties as needed Minimum Qualifications Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology 2 or more years of clinical laboratory testing experience in a CLIA/CAP laboratory Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology 1 or more years of quality related experience in a CLIA/CAP laboratory Additional Job Standards In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirements Familiarity with an electronic data management system is a plus (i.e. MediaLab) General knowledge of laboratory regulations (CAP/CLIA/ISO) and licensing requirements Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures Experience working in a high volume laboratory environment Basic understanding of audit related requirements and procedures Working knowledge of quality assurance best practices and procedures Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills Ability to work independently and within a team environment Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position Able to pass a standardized color blindness test Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs Benefits Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical Dental Vision Life STD/LTD 401(k) Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO) Tuition Reimbursement Employee Stock Purchase Plan Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
