Together, we are EXP.Are you ready to design your future?Be our next Project Engineer!In this role, you will be a part of the Engineering Team, of the Oil, Gas & Chemical Sector in our Houston, Texas Office.What a day at EXP has in store for youManages and coordinates the progress of the engineering work, under the direction of the project manager in accordance with the project scope and scheduleDevelop, coordinate and maintain project schedules to ensure cost, quality and schedule objectives are metDevelop and recommend improvements to project work processesParticipates in the development of project and engineering execution strategiesManage and control the engineering budget and deliverables listPrepare and validate project forecastsIdentify scope changes and request change orders in advance of performing workUsing established project management tools, measured on a monthly basis, the progress of engineering, to ensure that the budgets and schedules are being met, and if necessary, take corrective actionEnsures that the review of documentation is carried out in accordance with the Project InstructionsPrepare project status reportsEnsure that interdisciplinary coordination is carried out in accordance with the Project InstructionsSet agenda and lead project meetings, including preparation of meeting minutesPrepare engineering and construction work packages as required to support the execution of the projectInitiate a prompt identification and correction for any engineering issuesOversee and manage the procurement requisition process, review bids and tendering documents to ensure conformance with the project scope and technical specificationsDevelop, maintain and coordinate all interfaces with client operations groupsWork with department managers and Engineering director regarding staffing needs for assigned projectSupport the identification and pre-qualification of subcontractorsClearly communicate the engineering scope, including the technology and the design information, with team members in order to meet project requirementsReview drawings and develop scopes of workEstablishes and maintains a climate favorable to the application of ethical and professional practices in the execution of the project engineering workWhat your experience looks likeBachelor of Science degree in EngineeringRegistration as a Professional Engineer or eligible for PE registration is preferredMinimum 8-10 years of experiencePrevious EPC/EPCM experience preferredSolid understanding of project management and knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other disciplines/fieldsWorking knowledge of cost, planning and control methodsProficiency in a variety of standard project management methods and techniquesAbility to meet assignment schedule & deliver quality products under pressureProficient with MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)About UsOur story With a mission to understand, innovate, partner and deliver, EXP provides engineering, architecture, design and consulting services to the world's built and natural environments.Our heritage dates back to 1906, when the earliest of EXP's predecessor companies started its engineering infrastructure practice.
