Senior Accounting Manager

Senior Accounting ManagerSystem One is partnering with a client seeking a Senior Accounting Manager – Land Accounting to lead the accounting and financial reporting for land development operations in Plano, TX. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing month-end close, financial reporting, technical accounting, internal controls, and process improvements while managing and developing a team of accounting professionals.Key Responsibilities:Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for land development entities.Oversee financial reporting, account reconciliations, journal entries, and budget-to-actual analyses.Manage accounting for land acquisitions, development costs, lot inventory, joint ventures, and land transactions.Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SOX, and internal accounting policies.Partner with land acquisition, development, finance, and operational teams to provide financial guidance on development projects.Drive process improvements, strengthen internal controls, and standardize accounting practices.Mentor, develop, and lead Staff and Senior Accountants.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master's and CPA preferred).7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.Required experience in homebuilding or land development.Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close, and internal controls.Experience accounting for land acquisitions, development costs, lot inventory, and land joint ventures.Advanced Excel and financial systems proficiency with strong analytical and communication skills.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting leader with a background in land development or homebuilding to make a significant impact within a growing organization.
