Registered Nurse Medical Surgical/Tele

Job Summary:

Provides comprehensive nursing care to patients in a Medical Surgical/Telemetry setting, ensuring safety, comfort, and effective treatment. Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in accordance with clinical guidelines.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Evaluate patient conditions utilizing age-specific criteria and scientific knowledge.
  
  
• 
  Administer and titrate cardiac medications such as Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Heparin, and others, with knowledge of associated protocols.
  
  
• 
  Monitor and interpret telemetry, including heart rhythms, recognizing abnormal patterns and intervening as needed.
  
  
• 
  Recognize signs of stroke and other critical changes, implementing appropriate actions swiftly.
  
  
• 
  Communicate clearly and effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  
  
• 
  Support and guide non-RN staff, including LPNs, PCTs, and unit secretaries, ensuring high-quality patient care delivery.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold an active Ohio/OH or Compact RN license as shown on Nursys.
  
  
• 
  Possess a minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate competency in telemetry monitoring and cardiac medication administration.
  
  
• 
  Maintain current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
  
  
• 
  Exhibit strong critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills.
  
  
• 
  Be committed to punctuality and dependable shift reporting.
