Job Posting Closing on: Thursday, June 4, 2026 Workdays & Hours: Monday – Friday 7:00am – 4:00pm. Field Operations is a 24/7 Operation - weekend and after hour work may be required. This position is a first responder in severe weather conditions/emergencies which will be subject to work after hours, emergency call back hours, nights, weekends, holidays and will participate in an on‑call rotation schedule. This role requires proactive and dependable individuals who can quickly adapt to changing conditions and respond efficiently to urgent situations. Utility Supply Chain Inventory Control Field Operations Logistics Maximo & Procurement Keep the crews moving by managing the parts that power the system. Fort Worth Water is hiring a Parts Expediter to support its Field Operations Division by ensuring the timely procurement, delivery, and inventory control of vital materials and equipment. In this role, you’ll coordinate day‑to‑day supply operations—managing warehouse inventory, maintaining vendor relationships, and expediting urgent requests that keep our water and wastewater systems running 24/7. Whether you’re sourcing parts for a broken valve or organizing restocks after a storm response, your work directly supports Fort Worth’s essential infrastructure. If you’re experienced in warehouse logistics, municipal procurement, or materials coordination, and you thrive in a fast‑paced, team‑driven environment, this is your opportunity to make a big impact behind the scenes. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED certification. Specialized training in inventory management, accounting, purchasing, or related field. Three (3) years of experience in purchasing, sales, or inventory control. Possession of, or ability to obtain a Forklift Operator certification. Must be able to work a 24‑hour emergency call back rotating schedule, including ability to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Possess a valid driver’s license. Must be able to pass a physical, drug screen, and background verification. Preferred Qualifications: Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite, PeopleSoft, and Maximo or similar systems. Five (5)+ years’ experience in procurement of goods and services. Previous experience in the utilities, mechanical, or construction industry. Working Conditions and Physical Demands: Heavy Work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds constantly moving objects. Depending on assignment, positions in this class require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling, and lifting. Incumbents may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, odors, dust, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, intense noises, gases, vibrations, chemicals, oils, and workspace restrictions.
