Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts | Self-scheduling with unit needs considered | Every other to every third weekend required | Occasional holiday requirement | 2 on-call/standby shifts per contract

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 13-bed Medical Surgical unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 (without CNA) or 1:3 (with CNA)
• Manage and titrate drips including insulin, Cardizem, and Heparin
• Care for a diverse patient population including post-orthopedic surgery, COPD, CHF, general surgical, A-fib/RVR, MI/rule-out chest pain, and pediatric respiratory cases
• Operate and monitor respiratory therapy equipment including nasal cannula, high-flow oxygen, CPAP, and BiPAP
• Read and interpret basic telemetry in conjunction with virtual monitor tech support
• Float to the ER for task-based assignments on a rare basis; primarily unit-based

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience (first-time travelers considered)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Ability to titrate drips (insulin, Cardizem, Heparin)
• Basic telemetry reading skills

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with pediatric patients, particularly RSV and respiratory conditions
• Prior experience in a Medical Surgical setting with a broad range of diagnoses
• Familiarity with high-flow oxygen therapy and non-invasive ventilation equipment
