Job Overview The Library Assistant performs varied tasks to support library materials processing and circulation, assist students and staff and support the school librarian. Roles And Responsibilities The following information is intended to describe the overall nature and scope of the work being performed. This is not a comprehensive listing of all responsibilities or tasks; work may differ and other work may be assigned when deemed appropriate. Provides clerical support to the school librarian Supports and assists the school librarian in encouraging library use Assists in processing library materials and circulating resources Assists students and staff in locating materials and utilizing resources and technologies Qualifications Below are the minimum qualifications for this job. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are also acceptable. Education High school diploma Experience Experience providing direct customer service Licenses and Certifications NA Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Ability to utilize library management systems Ability to apply library procedures and policies Ability to compose routine memoranda and letters with general instruction Ability to maintain clerical and financial records and prepare routine reports Ability to operate a word processor and standard office equipment Knowledge of online search techniques Proficiency in word processing and data entry Physical Requirements And Environmental Hazards Lifting or moving 26-50 pounds Lifting or moving more than 50 pounds Climbing/descending ladders, scaffolding, ramps, poles, etc. Balancing Stooping Kneeling Crouching/ squatting Crawling Reaching Standing Sitting Walking Pushing Pulling Bending/turning/twisting head or neck Bending/turning twisting waist Manipulating (pick, pinch, etc. with fingers) Grasping Feeling Talking Hearing Seeing Remaining stationary Repeating hand/arm, wrist/finger motion Operating machines and/or power tools Challenging physical interactions (biting, hitting, throwing objects, encroaching, etc.) Challenging verbal interactions (offensive language, shouting, threats, etc.) Reports To: Principal FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Months/Days/Hours: 10 Months / 190 Days / 7 Hours Salary Level: Universal / Scale B.1 - Non-Exempt Level 4 Salary Scale: Salary Range: $22.47 - $23.87 Remote Work Eligible: No Union Designation: Non-Certified #J-18808-Ljbffr
