Maintenance Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic with a minimum of three years of maintenance or electrician experience, including at least two years in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be proficient in reading schematics and have familiarity with PLCs. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with a working knowledge of safety programs, particularly lock-out/tag-out procedures, and principles of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, welding, and mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, adjust, and repair equipment, electrical components, and special purpose machines as assigned.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems, referring to blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools to repair, grease, weld, cut, fabricate, change parts, and complete tasks as assigned.
• Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions following checklists.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly.
• Dismantle equipment to access and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
• Function independently while contributing to team goals in a team environment.
• Operate various equipment and machinery when maintenance tasks are low.

Work Environment

The work environment involves a mulch manufacturing facility, which can be dirty and hot, with both indoor and outdoor working conditions. Employees should be prepared for extended standing, walking, sitting, bending, climbing, and working with fall protection equipment in this dynamic setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pageland, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $31.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
