Benefits Consultant

Benefits Consultant – Salt Lake City, UT Brown & Brown is seeking a Benefits Consultant to join our growing team. The role focuses on employee benefits account management, maintaining client relationships, administering marketing and renewal functions, and providing financial analysis and reporting. Key Responsibilities Manage day‑to‑day client contact and assist with daily service functions. Retain current clients using technical expertise. Administer marketing and renewal activities. Assist Team Lead in servicing financial consulting needs of employee benefit clients. Evaluate financial and utilization metrics, prepare monthly financial reports, and produce ad‑hoc analyses. Develop and execute client benefit strategy. Advise clients on compliance, benchmarking, renewal, marketing, reporting, and analytics with minimal guidance. Provide client utilization and financial reporting to Team Lead and clients. Lead client meetings and presentations in partnership with Team Lead. Onboard new clients alongside Team Lead. Maintain vendor relationships and coordinate with Specialists for training and onboarding. Partake in market meetings, seminars and training programs. Maintain data entry, prepare monthly financial reports, and analyze activity and large claim detail. Prepare financial/underwriting exhibits as requested, including projections, large claim analysis, stop‑loss analysis, demographics, IBNR, etc. Develop reporting requirements, customize reports, and assist in RFPs and renewals of benefit coverages. Perform other duties as assigned. Licenses & Certifications Must obtain and maintain an active Life/Accident and Health Insurance Agent License. Skills & Experience Minimum of a 4‑year degree or equivalent work experience. 5+ years of employee benefits experience with thorough knowledge. 1+ year of financial experience. Proficiency in MS Office Suite; Microsoft Excel – strong to expert level. Strong analytical and critical thinking ability. High level of confidentiality. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Independent, detail‑oriented, and organized. Willingness to travel; may require driving personal or rental vehicle; acceptable Motor Vehicle Record required. Benefits & Total Well‑Being Medical/Rx, Dental, Vision, Life and Disability Insurance.
