Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Program Manager Plastics to lead cross-functional teams through the successful execution of new product development programs, from quotation through production launch. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multiple new product development programs from quotation through production launch, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with customer and quality requirements.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Tooling to ensure successful program execution.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, timelines, deliverables, and risk mitigation plans throughout the project lifecycle.
- Serve as the primary point of communication for customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, providing regular project updates and resolving issues as they arise.
- Review part designs for manufacturability (DFM), including draft, side actions, and basic molding considerations.
- Support tooling development through mold design reviews and coordination with tooling vendors and material suppliers.
- Apply APQP methodologies, Design of Experiments (DOE), capability studies, and continuous improvement practices to support successful product launches.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes, automation opportunities, and cost-effective production solutions while supporting new product introduction (NPI).
- Maintain accurate project documentation and provide regular status updates to internal leadership and customers.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in program or project management within a plastics manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of plastics injection molding, assembly, and/or conversion.
- Knowledge of APQP, DOE, capability studies, and manufacturing best practices.
- Experience managing project schedules, budgets, suppliers, and multiple concurrent programs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project or similar project management tools.
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Understanding of part design, mold construction, and design for manufacturability (DFM).
- Experience in clean room manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with automation systems, robotic manufacturing, and assemply operations.
- Experience with thermoplastic injection molding processes.
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
