Instructor - Healthcare: Billing & Coding Program Part Time Skokie, IL, US Reports to: Academic Dean General Summary: The Healthcare Career Program, Billing and Coding Instructor will teach the following courses: Customer Service Professional Development Medical Administrative Procedures Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology Foundations of ICD-10 Advanced IC-10 Foundations of CPT Advanced CPT Medical Insurance Methodology The purpose of the Instructor is to teach students appropriate content, create an environment conducive to learning to ensure that students complete courses, learn, progress and demonstrate overall academic success. Teach up to 27.5 hours week. Prepare lesson plans for each class session. Deliver lectures and facilitate Project-Based Learning (PBL). Assist students in the learning process. Evaluate and monitor student progress through the use of various assessment tools. Keep necessary records to report Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) to the Academic Dean. Attend and participate in quarterly campus-wide instructor in-service meetings as required. Stay well-informed about the advancements in teaching by attending professional development activities outside of CSI. Prepare students for real-world job skills and certifications (when applicable). Actively contribute to program improvement through the use of committee involvement. Provide support through academic advising to ensure student growth and retention. Additional tasks as needed. Education and Experience: BS degree in healthcare or a related field. 2 years of recent billing and coding experience. Preferred healthcare industry certification in either CPC, CCS, CCSP, CCA, RHIT, or RHIA. #J-18808-Ljbffr Computer-Systems-Institute
