As a General Education Teacher, you will have the opportunity to change lives through education as you motivate students to achieve academic excellence. You will provide direct instruction using an accelerated, back-to-basics curriculum including Spalding (reading & writing) and enVision Math as you: * Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences. * Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs. * Utilize direct instruction techniques to guide our students through a variety of activities designed to promote the social, physical and intellectual growth that is needed for primary school success! * Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and offers plans for improvement. * Maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures. * Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis. * Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment. * Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community. * Ensure that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification. * Participate in training and staff meetings. * Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules and coordinating meetings as needed. * Evaluate each student's learning capabilities and celebrate student accomplishments. * Encourage students to uphold our values and model mature behavior and good character in the classroom, on the school campus, and throughout their lives. * Be active in the role when light lifting, sitting, standing, moving throughout the campus and traveling to other campuses as required. Participate in events outside of normal hours. * Other duties as assigned.   REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU UP FOR SUCCESS * Bachelor's degree. * Valid teacher certification * The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU UP FOR SUCCESS * A current teaching certificate from within the state position is located. PHYSICAL AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT * Travel between campuses is required from time to time. * This position requires the need to lift objects (up to 25 pounds) on occasion. * This position may require sitting for long periods at times, talking on the phone, standing, kneeling, stooping and long periods of concentration. * Local and in-state travel required.
