We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer / Big Data Engineer with strong experience in Cloudera Hadoop and AWS to lead the migration of on-premises Hadoop workloads to AWS.
The candidate must be hands-on technically but also strong in stakeholder communication and migration coordination , working with Infrastructure, Content, DevOps, Data Engineering, QA, and Product teams.
Must Have- 10+ years of Software / Big Data Engineering experience
- Strong Cloudera Hadoop experience HDFS, Hive, Spark, Oozie
- Strong AWS Big Data experience
- Proven Hadoop-to-AWS migration experience
- Hands-on with AWS EMR, Glue, Airflow, Lambda
- Strong Python and Shell/Bash scripting
- Experience with Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
- Experience with Bitbucket, Gradle, Octopus, Artifactory
- Strong troubleshooting and technical documentation skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to understand migration scope, dependencies, risks, and requirements
- Analyze existing Cloudera Hadoop environment and develop AWS migration strategy.
- Design AWS solutions using EMR, Glue, Airflow, Lambda, etc.
- Lead data migration, application re-platforming, testing, and validation.
- Work closely with Infrastructure, Content, DevOps, QA, Product, and business teams.
- Troubleshoot technical and data-pipeline issues.
- Create migration plans, technical documentation, and runbooks.
- Mentor team members on Hadoop and AWS best practices.
Need: Healthcare/claims data experience and AWS certification.
