We are looking for an Emergency Veterinary Technician.What you'll do:Practice at the top of your experienceTreat critically ill and injured patientsPlace long-lines (PICC lines, Drum lines, and Central Lines)Perform in-house diagnostics (blood work, radiographs, etc)Administer blood transfusionsAdminister vasopressors and pain medicationsSet up the mechanical ventilator and hi-flow nasal oxygenAssist with extracorporeal procedures (TPE, hemoperfusion)Monitor critically ill patientsInteract with clients to help them understand their pet's careCollaborate with DVMs to provide exceptional care to our hospitalized patientsRecord and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather additional information as necessaryEvaluating incoming patients and prioritizing based on assessmentPartner with patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concernsProvide client education including, but not limited to: home care instructions, medications (indications, adverse reactions) and general wellness updates on hospitalized patientsAssist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and proceduresProvide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patientsInduce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation proceduresPerform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testingWho you are:An experienced Veterinary Assistant or Registered Veterinary Technician with 2+ years of experience in emergency and/or critical care medicineA team player with a growth mindsetSelf-motivated and a critical thinkerComfortable working in a fast-paced, unpredictable environmentProficient in "medical math:" comfortable calculating drug doses and making CRIsComfortable with high acuity cases and humane euthanasiaPerks and benefits include:Competitive hourly wageComprehensive health benefits (including access to vision and dental)HAS, FSA, and Dependent care FSA401k with employer matchElective short-term disability and company paid long-term disabilityElective life and AD&D insuranceUniform allowanceEmployee pet discounts and pet insuranceContinuing education opportunities and assistance programStrong career growth and personal development opportunitiesCome as you are.
