Job Description

We are seeking a Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) to support NAVFAC construction projects at in the Pensacola, FL area. This individual will serve as the primary on site safety authority, responsible for implementing and administering the safety program in full compliance with EM 385-1-1 and 29 CFR 1926 requirements.\nThis is a field heavy, safety first role supporting construction projects valued at approximately $3–8M.\n\nDay to Day Responsibilities\n•\tServe as the designated SSHO, meeting the requirements of EM 385 1 1 Section 1 and 01.A.17\n•\tEnsure compliance with 29 CFR 1926.16 and all NAVFAC / federal safety requirements\n•\tBe present on site at all times to implement and administer the government accepted Accident Prevention Plan (APP)\n•\tSpend ~90% of time in the field, actively supporting construction activities\n•\tConduct daily safety inspections and monitor compliance with safety plans, AHAs, and building codes\n•\tPrepare, review, and maintain: \no\tActivity Hazard Analyses (AHAs)\no\tSDS / MSDS documentation\no\tDaily safety paperwork and reports\n•\tLead safety orientations and oversee active safety training compliance for all site personnel\n•\tInvestigate reported safety or quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions\n•\tMaintain accurate and organized safety documentation for NAVFAC and project recordkeeping\n•\tCoordinate closely with project leadership, QC, and field supervision
