Part-Time Hair Salon Receptionist

Location: Smyrna, GA
Schedule: Thursday–Saturday, 1:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m., with additional Tuesday and Wednesday shifts as needed with advance notice.
Pay: $13–$14 per hour, plus commission on bundle and closure sales

About the Role

We’re hiring a friendly, organized receptionist to welcome clients and help keep our salon running smoothly. The ideal candidate provides excellent customer service, takes initiative, and stays calm and professional during busy periods.

Applicants must live within 10–15 miles of Smyrna, GA, and have knowledge of salon services, including hair coloring, natural hair care, braiding, extensions, silk presses, and blowouts. Strong social media skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Welcome clients, check them in, and notify stylists of their arrival.
• Schedule and confirm appointments by phone and email.
• Answer questions about salon services, pricing, availability, and promotions.
• Assist walk-in clients and book appointments as availability allows.
• Process cash and credit card payments and issue receipts.
• Recommend relevant services and products.
• Sell hair bundles and closures, earning commission on sales.
• Maintain accurate client contact information, billing details, and service history.
• Offer refreshments and keep the reception and waiting areas clean and inviting.
• Fold towels and assist with routine salon upkeep.
• Order supplies and promotional materials as needed.
• Support salon social media, including photographing completed hairstyles with client permission.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a salon receptionist, front desk representative, or in a similar customer-facing role.
• Knowledge of the salon services listed above.
• Strong social media skills and comfort creating salon content.
• Experience with point-of-sale systems, payment processing, printers, and basic office equipment.
• Excellent in-person, phone, and email communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• A positive attitude, dependable attendance, and a proactive approach to solving problems.
• Ability to multitask and remain courteous under pressure.
• High school diploma.
• Availability to work Thursday–Saturday, 1:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m., and additional Tuesday and Wednesday shifts as needed with advance notice.
