We are looking for someone with strong hands-on construction experience who can not only perform quality carpentry work, but also help lead a crew and keep projects moving. This is a working foreman position. You will be expected to work alongside the crew while also helping coordinate daily work, communicate expectations, monitor workmanship, and make sure the job is being completed safely and efficiently. Jakelin Construction works on a variety of residential and commercial projects, including new construction, custom homes, framing, remodels, roofing, siding, and other general construction projects. Responsibilities include: • Lead and work alongside a construction crew on daily jobsite activities • Lay out and perform wood framing, including walls, floors, roofs, and structural components • Read and understand blueprints, construction drawings, measurements, and specifications • Assign and coordinate daily tasks with crew members • Monitor workmanship and correct issues before they become larger problems • Track job progress and communicate updates or concerns to management • Help coordinate materials, equipment, and jobsite needs • Install windows, doors, siding, soffit, fascia, trim, and other building components • Perform roofing, remodeling, and general carpentry as required • Ensure company procedures and jobsite safety requirements are followed • Keep the crew productive and the jobsite organized • Communicate professionally with management, subcontractors, vendors, and others on the project Qualifications: • Significant previous carpentry and construction experience required • Strong framing experience required • Previous foreman, crew leader, or construction leadership experience strongly preferred • Must be able to read plans and perform layout without constant supervision • Ability to lead employees while still working hands-on with the crew • Strong problem-solving and communication skills • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation • Ability to perform physically demanding construction work and work outdoors in varying conditions • Willingness to travel to jobsites as projects require This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who understands construction, can take responsibility for the work happening on the jobsite, and can be counted on to help lead a crew. This is a full-time position. Job locations vary based on current projects and may include work throughout West Virginia and surrounding areas. Pay is based on experience, leadership ability, and demonstrated skill level.
