Radiology Tech Extender PRN

Provides support and assistance to the Radiologic Technologist in caring for patients and family members during the imaging process, completing clerical/computer duties, lifting/transporting of patients, and following hospital and departmental policies, protocols, and SOPs (including Radiation and MRI safety).

What You Will Do:

• Assist the Radiologic Technologist by completing basic patient assessments including verifying patient orders, completing patient questionnaires, patient preparation and instruction.
• Communication with other members of the health care team to help coordinate patient care.
• Facilitate patient care including, lifting, transport, chaperone and monitoring of patients.
• Assist with Radiology computer information and data entry including PAC system.
• Ensure the adequate availability of procedural supplies to include ordering and stocking patient care supply item.
• Follow hospital initiative in order to meet patient satisfaction goals.
• Follow MRI and radiation safety policies and procedures.
• Follow hospital and department Core Values, SOPs, policies, and standards.
• Register and check-in patients.
• Communicate with other members of the health care team to help coordinate patient care.
• Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Equivalent / GED High School diploma (Required)

Work Experience: less than 1 year customer service experience (Required)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Basic patient care skills (Required proficiency) Able to communicate effectively and interact with a diverse population across mutli-generations. (Required proficiency) Able to organize and adjust to changing workflow and patient care needs. (Required proficiency) Good communication skills. (Required proficiency) Patient care equipment specific to assigned population; telephone; nurse call system; pager, computers (Required proficiency) knowledge of PAC system and electronic health records. (Required proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required Upon Hire)
