Senior Legal Assistant

Wilmer & Lee, P.A. is seeking an experienced, professional, and highly organized Legal Assistant to join our Birmingham office. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive support to attorneys and clients in a fast-paced practice environment requiring exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment, outstanding client service, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under demanding deadlines. Essential Responsibilities ·Prepare, proofread, edit, and format legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, and reports. ·Maintain calendars, schedule meetings, and monitor critical deadlines. ·Maintain organized electronic and physical case files. ·Communicate professionally with sophisticated clients, vendors, witnesses, courts, and other stakeholders. ·Accurately capture time and enter billing information. ·Utilize Clio and related legal technology platforms to support case management and billing functions. ·Coordinate video conferences and client meetings. ·Provide exceptional administrative and legal support to attorneys and legal staff. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive support to attorneys and clients in a fast-paced practice environment requiring exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment, outstanding client service, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under demanding deadlines. ·Associate degree required. ·English major or minor preferred. ·Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Legal Assistant; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the experience requirement. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities ·Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word. ·Prior work experience with Clio software. ·Experience with cloud storage platforms and file-sharing services. ·Experience with Adobe Acrobat and related Adobe software products. ·Proficiency with video teleconferencing platforms, including Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex, or similar technologies. ·Experience communicating with sophisticated clients, vendors, and witnesses. ·Excellent telephone etiquette and interpersonal communication skills. ·Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. ·Demonstrated ability to multi-task effectively in an extreme deadline-driven environment. ·Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Work Schedule and Location ·This position is located at Wilmer & Lee, P.A., 500 Office Park Drive, Suite 330, Birmingham, Alabama 35223. ·This is an exclusively in-office position and requires regular on-site attendance Monday through Friday. ·Remote work is highly unusual and is not a regular component of this position. ·Travel is expected only in rare and exceptional circumstances.
