Make an Impact with PDS.Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is seeking a passionate Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to work with a school district in the Tacoma area for the 2026–2027 school year. This full-time, onsite position offers a structured schedule, a collaborative team environment, and the opportunity to help students build essential life and academic skills.About the RoleAs a school-based LPC, you will help students develop the functional skills needed to succeed in the classroom and daily activities. You'll work with a diverse caseload, supporting fine motor development, sensory processing, and independence with school-related tasks.Schedule & SettingMonday–Friday school hoursOnsite placement within the School DistrictNo evenings or weekendsSchool holidays and breaks offTeam-focused, supportive environmentWhat You'll ReceiveCompetitive compensation with optional 12-month spread payW-2 employmentComprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision)Retirement plan optionsCEU opportunities and ongoing professional developmentMaterials stipend + licensure reimbursementClinical Advisory Team for guidance and mentorshipDedicated Client Services Manager for consistent supportQualificationsMaster 's degree in Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution.Active state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).School-based experience preferred.Knowledge of special education processes, including IEPs and 504 Plans, preferred.Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary educational team.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide individual and group counseling services to students with social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs.Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans based on student needs.Collaborate with teachers, administrators, school psychologists, social workers, and related service providers to support student success.Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, IEP meetings, 504 meetings, and crisis intervention planning as needed.Provide consultation and training to school staff regarding behavioral and mental health strategies.Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and service logs in compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.Support students with emotional regulation, coping skills, conflict resolution, and social skills development.Respond to crisis situations and provide appropriate intervention and referrals.Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and support strategies.Ensure compliance with FERPA, HIPAA (as applicable), and ethical standards of practice.Why PDS?We prioritize a seamless, well-supported experience for our clinicians - so you can focus on delivering impactful services and helping students thrive.Apply TodayJoin a team that values your expertise and supports your success in a school-based setting.
