Supervised: None

Work Schedule: As needed

Amount of Travel Required: 50 %

Wage Scale Min: $10.30/HR Wage Scale Max: $13.59/HR

Summary/Objective

Responsible for providing childcare to children while parents are participating in Incredibly Years Parenting classes or other HOPES activities. Provide support in case management activities.

General Duties

Supervise and monitor the safety of children following the PdN Children’s/HOPES guidelines
Supervise independent play/facilitate games and activities for the children
Control behaviors and teach good habits (sharing toys and cleaning space)
Attend to children’s physical, emotional and social growth
Change diapers of infants and toddlers in a safe and sanitary manner
Frequently lift up to 25 lbs, be able to reach with hands and arms
Build productive and collaborative relationships with HOPES staff and IY parents
Check room safety (tables, charts, shelving, electric outlets and appliances are out of reach of children)
Maintain facility and area clean during and after class
Discuss with parents, child’s eating habits (feeding routines, liquid and food intake)
Assist with the delivery of basic needs items and client incentives
Assist with picking up and delivery of intake documents or other HOPES material

Requirements:

Required Education and Experience

Associate degree or higher education in related field
Must have reliable transportation
Valid drivers license and car insurance

Preferred Education and Experience

Experience in working with young children
Knowledgeable of child development

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Must pass criminal history background check
