Kitchen Assistant$16.80 - $20.50 PER HOURThe purpose of this position is to maintain quality standards and product levels for the kitchen. This person will be assisting the chefs with preparing food for the kitchen, including cooking, frying, and preparing various food items from recipes, as well as ensuring all food is held at a safe temperature. This person will also be responsible for receiving and stocking products and providing exceptional customer service.Essential duties and responsibilities include:Follows established departmental and store policies and proceduresEnsures the quality and freshness of all products and services the Kitchen providesEnsures the Kitchen is cleaned and sanitized daily and meets the company standards for appearanceResponsible for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the KitchenConfirms pricing accuracy and signage for all products, paying particular attention to ad itemsDelivers excellent customer service to all customersCooks and fries all hot foods for the KitchenWeighs, measures, and mixes ingredients according to recipes using various kitchen utensils and equipmentPrepares all pizza items following Harmons' recipes including assembling pizzas for the take-and-bake section and baking pizzas for the hot case in applicable stores, as directed by the Kitchen departmentUse a variety of manual and automated kitchen equipment to cook, measure, mix, wash, peel, cut, slice, or shred meats, fruits, vegetables, and other products/ingredientsAssembles and packages to-go soups, salads, dips and sandwiches, as well as packaging other chef prepared itemsPreparing sauces for use in recipes of wok bar itemsDocuments food safety temperatures using the food safety log systemAssists in cleaning and maintaining the dishes and the dish room cleanlinessHelps check food loads in and ensures proper storing of these items, including receiving and stocking productAssists as needed to ensure the success of the Kitchen as a wholeMarginial duties and responsibilities:Performs other job-related duties as assignedNature of work contacts:Consistent and daily interaction with customersConsistent and daily interaction with store associatesTraining and qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
